Update on Tom

Tom was doing well today but ended up with severe pain from gas caused by ileus.  Xray showed nothing serious but painful nonetheless.

Out of Surgery

The surgery is done and he should be moving to the ICU for recovery soon. The tumor was cancerous and the whole pancreas needed to be removed. The surgeon said that everything went as expected and the cancer did not spread to the lymph nodes or anywhere else which is great news.

Surgery Today

The surgery is currently scheduled for noon today, 6/9. It would not be unexpected for it to be delayed a few hours since there is a case before his.

Admitted to Penn Early

He was admitted to Penn last night from the ER and was put on IV antibiotics. He had an infection that is mostly under control now. The surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow morning. He is feeling much better today than he was yesterday.

Update

Tom spiked a high fever.  Headed to ER.  He may have to have Stent replaced.
